Roles and Responsibilities

Role:-Senior Associate Online System - UPI BHIM
Location: - Hyderabad
Experience : - 3 to 7 years
Educational Qualification: -
BE/ B-TECH/ MCA with good academics, No distance education.

Graduate with exposure on Payment Systems and sound knowledge in Open source technology.


This position is open with National Payments Corporation of India. To execute and manage Production System of UPI & BHIM. As we are moving to more digitalization, NPCI has come up with latest technologies to enable the payments seamless to the end customers.

Candidate will be part of 24/7 Online systems Team and Primarily will be responsible to ensures systems are at 99.99% uptime maintained.

Must display a high level of professionalism, sound judgement, commitment, integrity, teamwork and customer service.

Strong analytical, deductive reasoning skills, ability to determine best course of action /make sound recommendations.

Solid Communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to communicate with several stakeholders internally and external to organization.

Good troubleshooting/analysis skills.

Maintain uptime of the system 99.99%

Coordination with member banks to understand the concern and provide appropriate solution.

Must have basic understanding of XML,TCP, UDP, HTTP(S) protocols.

Basic understanding of understanding of process flow of payment system like UPI, IMPS, AEPS ,ATM, POS, ECOM

Must have in depth exposure in interfacing technology format like XML, JSON, Web Services etc.

Support to internal and external audits.

Having Good knowledge on Linux/Unix, shell scripting, Database - MySQL, Redis, Kafka, Nginx,

Basic Coding skills required like Java, Python

Sound skill on Open Source.

2. Responsibilities

Critical System Monitoring

Primary responsibility is during critical situation - troubleshoot and resolving errors

Any technical issue must act quickly to analyze available data and find the root cause

Carry out SOD & EOD checks and address /work on issue if any.

Settlement Optimization. Ensure all data is pushed to settlement systems without any delay and resolve the issues if observed within the time lines

Technical expertise & Attention to detail

To be mindful of details as task involves crucial and in-depth system handling.

To Handle technical issues and work towards closure by putting the technical skills in hand.

Ensuring the availability during critical issues and support 24/7.


To carry out end to end system configuration.

Ensure and carry out all production pre-checks and post checks done as per internal guidelines and process set.

Handling Production related activities & Queries
Handling all Daily Production Queries and all internal production process tasks. Should carry out effective communication with banks and work with cross functional teams for coordination of production issues and work towards closure.

DR Drills/ Patch related activities/Certificate Management
Carry out Drills with proper coordination along with support team and carry out end to end pre- checks and post checks. Verify test results and critical patch movement to production system.

Performance analysis
Need to proactively prepare MIS, Identify the issues and verify the performance of banks and suggest banks for the improvements based on data.

Process Management
Good Knowledge on Process & Change Management. Able to handle the service desk activities with documentation.
